KEK Celebrates 35 Years of Excellence with Thought-Provoking Public Lecture at AICC

As part of its 35th anniversary celebrations, KEK Insurance Brokers Ltd. held a flagship Public Lecture on 8th May 2025 at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC). The event brought together key industry stakeholders to reflect on KEK’s journey, honor its founder, and engage in meaningful discussion on a pressing policy issue.
Chaired by Mr. Felix Addo, Board Chairman of KEK, the lecture featured three main sessions:
“The Journey of Insurance Broking in Ghana & KEK’s Contribution” – Highlighting KEK’s growth from a modest beginning in 1985 into a regional leader in insurance brokerage.
“The Man Kwesi Essel-Koomson: Who Was He?” – A tribute to the visionary founder of KEK, whose values of excellence, education, and professionalism continue to guide the company.
Panel Discussion on VAT on Non-Life Insurance Premiums – A timely conversation on the reintroduction of VAT on non-life premiums and its impact on industry growth, with insights from leading experts.
The event welcomed Dr. Abiba Zakariah, Commissioner of the National Insurance Commission, as Guest of Honor, and Mr. Samuel Ocran, Group CEO of Star Assurance, as Keynote Speaker.
