The Greatest Power in Business

THE GREATEST POWER IN BUSINESS
The greatest power in any business is the people power. No matter how great your business’ potential; no matter how good your product offerings and services are, the thing that will, at the end of the day, determine the success or failure of your business is the effort and the dedication shown by the people who make up your business team.
Often, a lot of business owners and managers start out their business journeys by worrying first about the technical aspects of their businesses. They wonder: ‘Do I have enough business knowledge? Can we beat our competitors? Will the business make money? And can the business make more money?’ Sometimes they overlook the fact that the greatest challenge of the leadership role is learning to channel the tremendous power of people.
In every business the most serious problem are people problems. Every good manager knows how vital it is to keep people motivated and productive in their jobs. If your people are unhappy, unmotivated, or have attitude problems, the progress of the business is bound to suffer.
One thing we seem to have lost in today’s management is the human touch. Traditionally, businesses and management/business schools place so much emphasis on profit margins and net worth that manager sometimes forget employees are human beings with their own set of hopes, desire, and needs. They forget that they were once too employees themselves.
Too often, business owners and managers think that the success and profitability of their businesses come first; and the success of their people, second. I believe that it works just the opposite. You show people how they can succeed, and the success of your company is assured.
Your people are your company’s most important asset. It is their contribution that makes the difference between the company’s success or failure. Put your people first and watch the business achieve incredible results!
